Welcome to the first issue of NanoTrailMessage from the CEO, Jeremy Warren
Welcome to NanoTrail, an electronic newsletter reporting on the latest developments in nanoparticle analysis from NanoSight. We will provide you with short, sharp, technically orientated pieces to introduce you to our NTA technology – Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis – and to update you on development and application.
In this first edition, I am pleased to report that we have just received our 100th order. The system has been installed for Professor Steffen Petersen, at the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, Aalborg University, Denmark. Professor Petersen will be using the system to study the build-up of multi-layered, targeted nanoparticle drug delivery systems. We will report in more depth on this application in a future issue of NanoTrail. Professor Petersen told us he was attracted to the LM10 not just for sizing particles but also the potential to differentiate between particles of similar sizes based upon their differing refractive indices.
The Petersen group will be constructing drug delivery vehicles around an iron oxide core that will enable the study the effectiveness of different targeting molecules using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques.
